Zion Wright's New Vans Zahba Launched

Zion Wright’s new Zahba Vans shoe launched last weekend at the Vans Skate Space 198 in Brooklyn, New York City and it was a hell of a time.

There was food, skating, music, dancing, tears, blood, sweat, a big-ass cake and a good feeling, good looking new Zahba. Zion’s Zahba is a low key, stylish sillhouette, made with sustainable materials, an ImpactWaffle insole, and features accents and signatures throughout. The shoe launches alongside a must watch short, ‘We’re From Here’ presented by Vans Skateboarding.

Despite the cold, the masses came out to skate and celebrate with Zion and Vans, and we were stoked to be included. Very often, going to a skate event is a bit daunting. It’s tough to arrange and orchestrate fun, and at this kind of thing, the vibes are often off, but rather than a corporate whatever, this felt more like a hang. A celebration. A sincere moment with sincere people who are proud to be putting out a quality product.

It’s a lovely, special, monumental thing, having a shoe, and a well-deserved accomplishment by Zion who has been skating with more style and determination down increasingly life-threatening obstacles for years.
