With the Allah-Las in Sydney recently, we decided to pull the four-piece band away from giving audiences a taste of their breezy, quintessentially Californian sounds, for a quick tour de record.

We’d found out that Pedrum, Matthew and Spencer were all working at Amoeba Music when the band first got started, so who better equipped to peruse our local record store in search of nuggets of gold? We gave the guys $200 and stuck around to see what they could scrounge with our dollars. From Heart of Darkness to a “slinky, sultry, dreamy, steamy sax-driven album,” come check out what they picked up.
