Lilian Fev

Lilian Fev got last part in the Rassvet Blue video.

That should tell you enough about his prowess as a skater. The French prodigy is remarkably and unmistakably fucking good at skateboarding. What else can we tell you about him that you won’t read about in a moment? He’s a coffee drinker. He loves dogs. Loves them. He is very good at apologizing to Parisian cyclists for blocking the way while someone tries a trick into the bike lane. He and his partner owned and operated a vintage clothing store in Paris for a number of years, hence his fashion sense. In this way, Fev is the perfect if not only person one can ask the complex-yet-common question, ‘where is the most high quality used clothing store that is also in close proximity to a very long ledge that leads into a bike lane in Paris?’ Watch his Blue part. Drool over his dog. Listen to SoundCloud mixes.

Who are you?

My name is Lilian Fev, I’m twenty six years old and lived in Paris for seven years to live my childhood dream and make a living out of skateboarding.

What do you do?

I am, at this time, a full time skateboarder.

How long have you been doing that?

I quit my bakery job six years ago to do that.

Where is home for you?

My hometown is Annecy, and after having lived in Paris for seven years, Annecy is still the number one place for me.

If you weren’t skating, what would you be doing?

If I weren't skating, I would be a pastry chef in Asia or the US.

The world would be a such better place with less taxes and more dogs.

What do you think about the current state of skate culture?

Damn that’s a tricky one, I think everything is changing so quickly and the people are constantly caring too much about what the other people think about them which is giving a big toxicity to our culture. I didn’t know about it before social media, but I’m always wondering about how it was before.

What do you do outside of skating and how does that thing influence or affect your skating?

Outside of skating I take care of my dogs, and hang out with my girlfriend and my friends. It makes me really happy and I guess a sane entourage is giving a lot of opportunities in your sport.

The best/worst thing about the skate industry as you see it?

The best thing to me in skateboarding at the moment is the amount of new edits every week. The worst to me might be the way of consuming through web skate shop, the culture needs to keep physical shops in town to educate kids, meet up and hangout with people, having premieres, etc.

Something you’re most proud of?

As a skater I’m really proud of my last part in the Rassvet Blue video ahah. As a human I’m just proud about the fact that I can live from what I love.

Biggest lesson you’ve learnt in life so far?

In France we always say ‘you reap what you sow’, which mean that if you are bad to people, they will treat you the same. So I’m trying my best to be as friendly as I can whatever who I’m talking with.

Something anyone can do today to make the world a better place?

The world would be a such better place with less taxes and more dogs.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve overcome so far in your industry?

I guess [the challenge right now] is to try and turn pro… but making a living out of skateboarding is already a huge challenge as it is haha.

What is something people might not know about you?

They might not know that I’m still playing Modern Warfare 2 online. Hell of a news.

Who do you think is doing it the best/coolest in your industry right now?

Ooh, pretty hard to choose one guy, but if I had to, I would say K-Rod because he is inspiring shit tons of kids without even using social media.

What do you think the biggest issue young people are facing today?

I think it’s super hard to visualize your future as a teen at the moment.

What were your goals when you began skating and have they changed over time?

Having my name on some gear would make the ten year old Fev stoked for sure.

What do you think is the most illegal trick?

I think bodyvarial/sexchange is not a thing anymore. But who knows…

When was the last time you were amazed by seeing someone skate in real life?

As Rassvet has welcomed Austyn Gilette to the team, he stayed for almost three months in Paris. The way he skates flatground to warm up is really dope and satisfying, he is built different lol.

What is a trick that has eluded you and why do you think it has?

I’ve never get how to flip into bs tail but I really love this trick haha, I feel it’s the type of trick that you need to learn before you're twenty.
