You Missed It: The ‘Team Average Japan’ Video Premiere In Los Angeles

photos by daniel hare.

Another long and fun and very, very long night out in Los Angeles.

But this time, instead of to satiate our various drug habits, it was for the premiere of Team Average Japan, a film by Kai Neville starring Austyn GIllette, Craig Anderson, Jaleesa Vincent, Lilian Fev, Shin Sanbongi, Jake Anderson, Noa Deane, and Kaito Ohashi.

It was spectacular. Surfing, skating, more Sapporo beer than I have ever seen in one place, good music (mostly, sorry, the Barry Manilow was my fault), lots and lots of photo booth nudes, and a very special speech by Austyn, Jake, and Jake’s little French friend, Fev. Special thanks to Silverlake Lounge, Blake, Luke, Will, and everyone who came out to watch thew world’s best surfers and skaters do what they do best.

Team Average Japan was created and produced by Monster Children in association with Sapporo and Up, and supported by D_b and Former.

Skateboarding’s handsomest.

A very special thank you to Sapporo for supplying the partygoers with more cans of beer than they could adequately and safely consume within the allotted amount of time, though they did try.

Apparently there was a fire? And it for sure wasn’t Jake’s fault. Just want that to be clear.

Austyn’s opening words: ‘first of all, I want everyone to know that I don’t want to give this speech, I am being forced.’ Sorry for that too, my baby Austy.

Off to the races. An enthralled audience.

Elliott brought his own sandwich and also biked from fucking JFK to Silverlake like a psycho. That’s why he writes for us. We employ psychos.

A lovely night. Another thank you to Sapporo and Well Wishes for Silverlake Lounge for having us in all of our strange glory. Cheers.
