You Missed It: The Monster Children SXSW Showcase

Last night, Wednesday, March 12th, 2025, we made history in Texas.

A lot of history has been made in Texas. The Alamo. The invention of breast implants. Pee Wee’s Big Adventure. But no history has been made in The Lone Star State quite as sweetly as the Monster Children SXSW Showcase. It was truly a night of nights at Mohawk Austin, and while my inclination is to consume credit and accomplishment like a black hole of insecurity, it must be said that we could not have done anything without the artists who made the case a showcase: Catcher, Surely Shirley, Dune Rats, Radio Free Alice, Gurriers, and Sunflower Bean. Additionally, we truly could not have done a damn thing without support from our friends at Fat Tire, who not only facilitated the event but threw us case after case of that coveted delicious liquid.
