Photo Evidence Of A Good Time With Private Function, Smooch and Grand Final
I’ve been shooting a lot of gigs over the last six months although what I haven’t been doing is sharing them with you, like the selfish prick I am.
I’m not really a selfish prick, but I will admit I’ve been lazy with my writing/sharing these epic gigs with you, yes you, the human (or alien) reading this Monster Children article. So, from here on in I pledge to share more of the madness, because quite frankly the bands deserved to be seen. Last Thursday saw the one and only Private Function journey to Sydney’s Crow Bar, who are currently touring their latest album 370HSSV 0773H. If you don’t know much about Private Function then stop reading my half-ass article and do some research. I suggest by starting here or here or here.
Basically with the first pressing of 370HSSV 0773H you have the chance to win all of the following:
1. A signed test pressing.
2. Your face on all future pressings of this record.
3. $2999.99
This however sadly (yet hilariously) excludes South Australia who’s gambling laws makes owning something like this illegal.
Moving on, the gig was great and a made for a very entertaining Thursday. Joining Private Function on the night was Melbourne’s finest Smooch and local rockers Grand Final, who both unsurprisingly blew the roof right off Crow Bar. If the above marketing stunts weren’t a big enough indication of fun for you, Private Function opened their set with a cover of ‘Let Me Entertain You’ by Robbie Williams. From then on in it was all crowd surfing, Mickey Monkey and bubble guns before ending it all with a cover of ‘Yellow’ by Coldplay which was far better than the original. Sorry Coldplay fans. Here are photos from the madness.
