Happy Skate Shop Day, Now Go Buy Something

Saturday, February 17th is International Skate Shop Day.

What does that mean? It means it’s time to show your support for the small shop in your local town that has been providing you with hard goods, demos, shop videos, and a place to linger for most of your skateboarding life. They provide vital support to communities of skateboarders young and old, acting not only as centers of commerce but as centers of safe congregation, where likeminded individuals can watch skate videos, show each other spots, and talk shit on each others’ rocket flips.

This Skate Shop Day, go to your local and spend a few dollars, bring the staff some donuts, or write them a kind and sensual letter of appreciation, because without them, none of us would be here.
