Skate products come from all over the place these days - surf shops, ski shops, online orders, Target, your local sponsored skater, Santa Claus..
These can be a great place to get your hands on your first set of wheels, but it’s the real core skate shops that are going to immerse you into the culture and get you wanting to come back.
You can go there without ever having to buy anything - it’s the clubhouse.
Sit on the couch for hours watching new and old skate videos. Grip a budding grommets board. Get all the tea on your favourite and least favourite pro skateboarders. Meet up with the other skaters in your local scene and maybe go get a session goin'. Play a game of S.K.A.T.E. Get the brand gossip from the shop associate. Try on some new outfits you can’t really pull off. Start a whole community and learn how to pitch in and be a part of something bigger.
Blackhole is a real skate shop. It’s got all this and you can’t replace that with shit. The internet doesn’t smell anywhere near as good as an old set of wheels.
Go check into Ventura and show some support. These guys are at the heart of skateboarding.
