Lauren Winzer has tattooed Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, and Elsa Pataky, among others, and now she’s gonna tattoo you—for FREEEEEEEEE!
As part of her exclusive collaboration with Bepanthen Tattoo, Lauren is going to post up at the Sydney Tattoo Expo this weekend and plant some tough stamps on the people. We had a quick chat while she sorted out the flash.
Lauren, what's this I hear about you giving away free tattoos at Sydney Tattoo Expo this weekend? What's the scoop? First in best dressed?
First in best dressed! So get in early. There’s a sheet of pre-made designs for the Bepanthen capsule collection based on hydration and being calm. One of my personal faves is 'Moist'. So, come cop the lot!
So I can't get a full-back piece depicting key moments in the Chicago Bulls' 95-96 season?
Oh, man, as much as we need to lock that shit in asap, there will be a sheet of small fine-line tattoos to pick from at the expo. I made them quite simple so I can make my mark on as many people as possible.
Is there a body part you refuse to tattoo?
It depends on the person. Like, for friends, etc, I’ve tattooed everywhere from boobs to genitalia to the gooch!
What did you tattoo on a gooch?!
The Gucci logo, of course. That was a personal favourite tattoo idea.
Is there a body part you prefer not to tattoo?
I don’t love tattooing behind the ear because the skin and bone vary per, like, half a centimeter, so it’s extra difficult to get perfect. But I’ll still never say no. It’s just more of a strain on the remaining brain cells I have left!
What's so good about Bepanthen?
For me, it’s just foolproof. I’ve been using it even back when it wasn’t certified tattoo cream because it not only hydrates, it’s also antiseptic, so all bases are covered.
What's the silliest aftercare thing people do after getting a tattoo?
Wear dirty clothes or go to the gym when it’s still so fresh it can absorb dirt etc. I’m like, 'Come on, man. Just take a day off, kick back and celebrate with something naughty after getting a tatt.'

Next question: If you came across an enchanted fox in the forest and the fox said, 'Hey Lauren, I'm an enchanted fox, and I'm going to make all your tattoos disappear, but you can choose one to keep,' which would you choose?
Oh, wow. This question rules. I have to say my 'Mum' tatt. My own mum did it when she finally came around and understood my line of work. It’s the most janked-but-special thing I have on my body, for sure.
Last question: You've tattooed Miley Cyrus. Did she smell like musk sticks?
You know what? You’re not far off! She usually does smell super sweet or like weed. I'm a big fan of both scents!
