What We Are Listening To: September, 2024

It is September 2024 and we are getting older.

I say ‘we’, but I mean, ‘I’. I am getting older. I turn thirty this month and it is throwing me into a panic hole the likes of which I have never known. It is absolutely fucked. My knees ache. The hangovers are worse. I look at kids on the subway making loud noise and I hate them. I am truly on death’s door. On the bright side, music remains good and my taste in it remains impeccable. Lucky me, but especially, you, because you get to hear what I hear, all of which you’d never have found on your own. I know what you’re going to say. ‘Naz, of course I know Clementine by Elliott Smith, I’m not a moron.’ First of all, yes you are, and second of all, yeah, you know Clementine, but you don’t really know, you know? By chucking it on this playlist, I am providing you an opportunity to really nestle up to it; really feel it’s nooks and crannies with your soft delicate ear holes. So praise me for my time on this earth is short - ever shorter every day - and in my time I seek only to bless thee, with funny words, good music, and the below photo of my friend Wilson slamming Grey Goose straight from the bottle on a Bushwick sidewalk.
