6 Gigs To Catch In February Around Oz

By Riki Wells.

You’ve had a month off, now it’s time to get back to business; the business of getting down.

Perhaps the silly season took a toll on your judiciousness, you probably don’t even know where to start when it comes to live music. Don't fret, it’s just your luck that the best shows of the month are helpfully listed below.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra Multiple Dates @ Multiple Venues

Landing on Australian shores to primarily hit the festival circuit, Unknown Mortal Orchestra is set to grace our ears with their new album ‘V’, hitting multiple sideshows across the country. Renowned for being an auteur of indie rock, primary member of UMO Ruban Nielson’s compositions are sonically bursting, like perfectly ripe fruit, and UMO’s live shows follow suit, bright lights and pulsing beats.

Queens Of The Stone Age Multiple Dates @ Multiple Venues

Appearing in Australia for the first time since 2018, Queens of the Stone Age have had a rough run. Lead Singer Josh Homme has battled Cancer, Divorce and the unfortunate passing of former band member Mark Lanegan. Despite the taxing circumstances, the band has produced, arguably, one of their strongest albums since 2007’s Era Vulgaris. Hitting up every major city, these shows are going to hit like a confusingly pleasurable smack in the face.
