The Belair Lip Bombs and dust are in Austin, Texas, to play the Monster Children SXSW Showcase.
For both bands, it is their first time to Austin. You know when you go somewhere brand new and it’s all very stimulating, fun and shiny? Kind of like when you start a new job or a new bar opens up or when you first fall in love? Because they’re all bright eyed, we decided they’d be the perfect people to take us on a little Texan tour. A rendezvous. A travel diary adventure so to speak, made easy by Up. BBQ, burgers, country dancing, beers, guitars breaking and dreams coming true: hey now, hey now, this is what Texas is made of. Notes From Dougal:
‘Somehow we all slept heaps on the plane. Customs line was as long as Texas itself. Always a little tense getting through US customs. Completed a half marathon across Dallas Airport to just make our connecting flight to Austin in time. Two bags got left behind in Dallas but luckily no people. Despite the long haul, everyone is in good spirits and already hyping up Texan BBQ and the shows to come. Ended the 48 hour mission with a well deserved In and Out feast…Double Double + Animal fries.‘Hilly Billy Island' and Bare Knuckle Boxing on TV, yep this is the American dream.’
